About the CSUDH Foundation

The California State University, Dominguez Hills Foundation ("Foundation") was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of the California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) to provide services and develop and enhance programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. CSUDH is a highly diverse, metropolitan university primarily serving the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Established in 1960, CSUDH is one of the 23 campuses that comprise the California State University system.

Position Information

TRiO SSS-Veterans project Math Tutors assist in supplemental math instruction for up to 120 first-generation, low-income, and students with a disability. Tutors are responsible for providing academic assistance to grant participants in individual or group sessions. Tutors assist students to better understand course materials, thereby improving their potential for academic success.

This is a part-time, non-exempt, non-benefited position.

Employment at the Foundation is on an at-will basis and can be terminated by either an employee or the Foundation at any time with or without cause or advanced notice. Permanent status can neither be obtained nor granted. 

Employment is with the California State University, Dominguez Hills Foundation. This is not a State of California position. 


$16.00 per Hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide upper division math tutoring to grant participants in algebra, statistics, and calculus.
- Facilitate learning as a guide, coach, and mentor to assist the student to become a successful, independent learner.
- Tutor students either individually or in small groups in various math subjects.
- Maintain records and participate in trainings and workshops.
- Submit required paperwork such as logs and time sheets in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree  or a senior or graduate student currently enrolled in college and in good academic standing
