CSI3 is dedicated to providing future and current CSI3 teachers with a combination of educational experienced geared to prepare them for 21st Century Learners. Through all of it programs, CSI3 is systematically addressing the shortage of STEM Teachers in high-need schools in and around the Los Angeles area and across the state. CSI3 had developed innovative undergraduate, credential, and graduate programs, and has formed multiple partnerships with high-need schools and school districts as well as community colleges.

About the CSUDH Foundation

The California State University, Dominguez Hills Foundation was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of the University to provide services and develop and enhance programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. CSU Dominguez Hills in a highly diverse, metropolitan university primarily serving the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Established in 1960, CSU Dominguez Hills is one of the 23 campuses that comprise the California State University system.

Purpose of the Position
To provide educational guidance and assistance for undergraduate scholars by planning schedules, recommending courses and determining appropriate education solutions and coordinate all program activities.

Primary Position Responsibilities
  • Meet with scholars to review and discuss academic progress
  • Provide scholars with academic resources such as tutoring and advising
  • Inform scholars of internship, conference, research, scholarship opportunities
  • Plan monthly undergraduate seminars on various topics to prepare them for teaching
  • Coordinate Teacher Assistant placement and secure payment in a timely manner
  • Complete hiring paperwork and follow up with university Hr to ensure rapid processing
  • Initiates and maintains individual student files as appropriate, updating, and evaluating file as new information is received
  • Review student files to ensure deadlines are met for completing various graduation requirements such as coursework requirements, examinations, and other specific program requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters Degree
  • Previous experience in counseling college students
  • knowledge of credentialing process
  • Excellent communication skills, knowledge, of excel, PPT, and online searches, processes public speaking skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Understanding of institutional policies, procedures, and resources
Physical Requirements and Other Conditions of Employment
The person holding this position considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth as condition of employment.

All employment with California State University, Dominguez Hills Foundation is at-will and shall continue only upon the mutual consent of the Foundation and the employee. This means that an employee may terminate his or her employment with the Foundation at any time with or without cause or prior notice and that the Foundation may terminate an employee's employment at any time with or without cause or prior notice.
